The SuperJANET5 transmission infrastructure procurement is being conducted under the Negotiated Procedure of the EC Procurement Services Directive.
The next key stage in the procurement of SuperJANET5, the replacement for the current JANET backbone, took place in June 2005 with the publication to potential suppliers of the formal Operational Requirement for the procurement.
The potential suppliers, listed below, were selected as a result of a prequalification process in December 2004.
The Operational Requirement provides a precise specification of the facilities JANET(UK) is seeking for the new backbone, and asks each potential supplier to respond with an equally precise and priced proposal as to how it could provide the backbone required.
A brochure (PDF) to accompany the Operational Requirement has also been published, outlining the key aspects of the Operational Requirement.
