Calls for Participation

Case Studies

One of the aims of BMAS is to involve JANET organisations in sharing their experiences of bandwidth and traffic management projects.

We would like to hear from organisations with an interesting story to tell which other JANET customers may find useful, as they search for a solution to a problem or which will help them to avoid making a mistake.

It is appreciated that IT departments are very busy and so two alternative approaches are proposed:

1. Organisations can write the case studies themselves using the guidelines published below. Funding is available to colleges for writing such reports in recognition of the effort involved.
2. A JANET(UK) consultant can write up the case study following on a site visit and conversations with the staff concerned. The benefit of this approach is that minimal effort is required on the organisation’s part, whilst allowing their experiences and achievements to be widely publicised. The organisation would retain final control of the text to be published.

Technology Papers

BMAS also has plans to produce further papers about bandwidth management technologies and QoS. Organisations are invited to contact BMAS with proposals. Funding is availablr for such work. We would also be interested to hear about those areas that would be of most interest to organisations.

Product Evaluations

BMAS also has plans to carry out further product evaluations and to produce reports on bandwidth management products QoS. Organisations are invited to contact BMAS with proposals. Funding is available for such work.
