The Central Office of Information (COI) is responsible for the policy governing the gov.uk domain, and for its rules and guidelines. JANET(UK) administers the gov.uk domain on behalf of the COI, in providing the name submission, approval and registration systems for the domain.
The COI publishes the guidelines used to determine eligibility of organisations for a name in the gov.uk domain.
Fill in the application template accessible in the right-hand menu and return it to the JANET Service Desk. Within five working days a response message will be sent to you advising whether the domain name has been accepted or rejected by the Naming Committee.
