This growing area involves aspects of traffic management, support for new protocols and understanding application behaviour to ensure that content can be effectively distributed over JANET.
JANET(UK) is currently involved in a number of JISC projects aimed at providing both new content services and improving existing services. Current projects include Newsfilm online, British Libraries Audio and British Newspapers 1800-1900, and a study looking into a future EMOL service.
JANET(UK) is also supporting developments with the BUFVC.
